April has brought more strength in the left leg. Thank you for praying! There’s definitely movement in the right direction!!! Today, he kicked out his left leg a little bit from a seated position. Our therapist was so impressed. Wasn’t expecting it at all!

In addition to praying, I was talking to the leg today, telling it to wake up, and definitely laughing at myself for doing it.

But the people who work here said that talking to the leg is actually normal, so I will continue telling it gently to wake up, because “it’s time to move!”

Papa worked extremely hard in physical therapy today, and with a little less support, stood again. He gave it 110%, and was pretty exhausted afterwards, giving all he had just to stand up.

I think about all the times he stood before. All the times he stood as if without thinking, just automatically wanting to go somewhere and going. Now he has to be so strategic about everything.

We are so proud of him. Not only because of how much he wants to stand and how he’s giving it all he’s got, but also because he was working on the underlying skills to get to where he wants to go. I know that has to take so much patience and concentration.

So grateful for skilled clinicians and physical, occupational, and speech therapists who are helping us get to where my dad wants to go!!!!! And most importantly, thank YOU for praying for him and for us! 🩷🤗
