We do “rose and thorn” at the dinner table, and today, we had a lot of roses. First of all, with the support of Dianne and Eddy, my dad was able to literally take steps forward. Even with tremendous support on the left side, it was still amazing to see! His friend who was visiting was so impressed! PRAISE GOD!
Next, my mentor sent me some much needed encouragement, and it was much appreciated!!! Thank you so much!
Third, I was able to attend a Zumba jam with Morgan. I watched her videos (it was called Mojo Zumba on YouTube) religiously during COVID. It was AMAZING that she came here and taught us. I felt so grateful. That’s like a huge, beautiful rose for me. When I taught the dance club, I literally used her videos. To learn from her live in my city was such a blessing.
Fourth, my youngest had a play date with my good friend’s daughter. It was good for him to get out of the house and talk with other folks!
Fifth, the middle child’s game was originally canceled, but then another coach stepped in to ref so that the kids could still have their game. I got there late because I had to pick up the oldest from her job first, but once I got settled, I relaxed, talked to my friends, and generally had a moment of peace outside. I love cheering on the kids, and I like talking to other kids on the sidelines. One girl kept talking to me. She’s 6, and she likes numbers. She asked me how old I was. She guessed as high as 93 and as low as 27, and it was funny to consider that range of possibilities for me. Kids are great, and even though I am not in schools right now, it’s fun to be reminded how funny they are!
Praise God for a great day!
