Today, my middle child and I attended the Holy Unction service (anointing with holy oil). Our friends were there, too, and it was good to see them and share updates about my dad. It’s so comforting to know they are all praying for him. His best friend visited yesterday, so he was there to encourage all of us, too. All that to say, there is nothing like church community.
We are so grateful for their care and support!!
Earlier today, the boys were cleaning the kitchen. I finished washing dishes and took out numerous bags of trash. Then, Era came over and ordered Roots because they didn’t want to eat the gluten free bucatini with pasta sauce and capers that was legit good (their loss, clearly).
And going back in time some more, Papa had an eventful morning of waiting for transport and then waiting for the neurosurgery appointment. It was worth the wait, as he is cleared for surgery, although we are hoping for an earlier surgery date. Clearly Patience was the key word and continues to be key for this process.
I am doing okay, meditating on the verse “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” A person I really admire sent me a song that was really comforting. Thank you!!! Yes, it’s going to be all right! God will make it right! We just gotta have patience and trust in the Lord.
And it also helps when the middle guy bakes a gluten free chocolate cake. That was super comforting to me. Thanks!!!
