I love how in the Psalms and in Isaiah, we are instructed to sing to the Lord a new song. Today, we sing praise for Papa singing a new song on the parallel bars. The previous song was a lament about how those same bars completely overwhelmed him the first day of rehab to the point of us having to go to the ER. But day by day, step by step, he is getting stronger by your prayers and the help of the therapists, to the point that he stood well today (with left side support). We sing a song of Praise!!!!

Also at home, we cooked again today. Our old song was being completely exhausted and buying prepared food somewhere. Our new song is taking the time to breathe so that we can literally cook our own food every day.

Finally, our old song was seeing my dad a certain way and hearing him speak a certain way and seeing him walk a certain way, and taking it for granted. Our new song is being grateful for little steps in the positive direction (BIG steps from him) and appreciating every day how far he has come!!
