Happy Easter if you are celebrating today! We attend an Eastern church, so our Easter is next Sunday, but to all my brothers and sisters who celebrate today, He Is Risen!!!! Happy Easter!
I was just telling my friend who is Muslim and wished me Happy Easter (thank you!) how much I wish that all three branches of Christianity can worship together on the same day! Sometimes, the date for Easter coincides, like last year!!! That was wonderful. But more often, the dates are different, and that’s okay. We’ll be all together in Heaven, God-willing and then it won’t matter if you’re Baptist or Roman Catholic or Greek Orthodox — you’ll just be home.
But here we are, living in this broken world even as we know that God loves us so much! He wants us to be one in Him. And how will we be known? By how we love each other. God, please have mercy on us and preserve us!!!! Help us do a better job of loving each other.
Today, our church treated us to a Fish fry with potatoes and green beans! We felt loved. We had a good time in fellowship together (talking about DC, soccer, cooking, and Ethiopian food). Then, I went grocery shopping with my middle child and we spent time at home. Then, we walked around World Market and found one of the World Market Eggs and got a coupon for free stuff – we got two kinds of tea and two types of candy lol. Priorities!!!
Then, I went to see my dad. We had a good time talking together, planning out what I was going to do with the kids this week. He suggested going to go see the Faberge Egg exhibit in Richmond’s art museum. We will try to do that! I want to go for a long walk everyday, so that’s my personal goal.
After seeing Papa, I went home, made a lot of chicken thighs and pasta and Caesar salad, ate with the boys (the oldest already had another pasta), had some tea, and am currently trying to climb up the Duolingo ladder, baby!
I know it’s going to be demanding trying to give the kids fun experiences while also being there for my dad, so I pray for wisdom and discernment as to how to best fit everything in while keeping first things first. The oldest is starting a job this week, so I pray it will go well for her. May we take care of one another this week!!!
