This week, we explored the Japanese gardens at the Maymont, sang along to Sing and The Three Amigos, chased chickens at the Frontier Culture Museums, drove to the airport, and ran to the waves at the beach. I remember someone saying when you feel scared, do the thing scared. This week, I felt sad, but I chose to do the thing sad.
It’s hard when you realize that something you hoped for isn’t happening. I went to confession this week, and the priest said that finding love is work. Good guys don’t just fall from the sky like Martin Short in The Three Amigos. There is a plethora of good people, but it takes personal work and a lot of patience.
So, I have been reading the Bible (Ecclesiastes—-everything is meaningless! No seriously, the time to. . .passages), reading Mission St Clare daily prayers, journaling and reading books (and watching Pat Allen YouTube videos;)
I also am grateful for the friends I saw this week. I have very good friends, it turns out. Thanks, everyone. You are beautiful and wonderful 🙂
As Chumbawamba sang, “I get knocked down, but I get up again.” Just like Mitya, getting knocked down, taking a breather, and running back to the waves!
