how do we have hope in a negative situation? When the patient is having a hard time staying positive (and who is to judge, especially when one is not in that difficult situation), how do we stay positive?
I think I have to remember that I am doing this for Jesus, not to please man. I know that God loves me so much and approves of me. And my goal is to keep encouraging my dad to press on and keep fighting even if progress is not in bunny hops, but is in slow and steady steps.
I pray for full and complete restoration, and I pray that not only for the body, but also for the mind and spirit.
And for me to stay emotionally and spiritually and physically strong — spending time in prayer, God’s Word, and nature helps. Working out helps (today, it was 15 minutes). Eating gluten-free helps (restarting that). Talking to friends helps. I so appreciate a visit from a wonderful retired doctor who brought her beautiful spirit and some delicious food. She brought joy today in the midst of a difficult time. Later today, it felt so good to talk to a friend at my middle child’s soccer practice!!
Thinking about my dad, it makes sense to be frustrated, and my dad has every right to be frustrated, but I pray that God encourages him tomorrow and helps him have hope and patience and perseverance. It’s like it has to be supernatural, from the Holy Spirit. Please God take care of us and encourage us.
Help us remember that this is the day that the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it!
