The reality of the upcoming week is setting in, I feel the weight of it, but all I can think of the Royal marriage, of the love and beauty. I don’t know about you, but I needed to see that wedding.
The uplifting power of love. The way he looked at her, and the way she looked at him. (Sigh:) When our own lives seem overwhelming, the inspiring power of love truly can help us through.
In my life of leaning into the weekend vacuuming and feeling tired, to see something so beautiful energized me. Not only to see beauty, but also to hear it through Sheku Kanneh-Mason and his cello. To experience Rev. Michael Curry’s prophetic words (didn’t you think, I will try the power of love with the person you had in mind)?
I am going to try to speak and act with love toward a student who has recently resorted to yelling at his teachers. I still will send him to the zone if he continues to blurt out and interrupt class, but can I do it with love instead of anger? I hope so, man.
May I remember the magical moments of this weekend, of a true fairytale of two people so inspiringly in Love.
I am also thankful for inspiration here in VA. Sasha had a dance recital today (we just got home), and I am so thankful for moments of beauty in our little corner of the world.
Here’s a toast to beauty and to love, even as we get that last little human to bed!
And to everyone who graduated, congrats!!
