Last week was a tough week, and so we took it easy this weekend. Thankfully, we did make time to take a ride on the Monticello Log Express. I love that trail.
I decided to consciously prioritize my own children because if I don’t make an effort to stop and make time just for my kids, life can (and does) get completely overwhelming. I have to remember that no matter what, my number one priority is my own kids.
In terms of school stuff, teachers have really gone above and beyond to teach our students AND to buy cookies the community service club made with the cooking club for Florence relief. I love working together with two wonderful teachers for both of our clubs. International Day is looming closer and I am actively recruiting kids to make trifolds about their country.
And yes, I’ve been praying for our own country, and yes, I am registered to vote.
As for tomorrow, I’ve been visiting sites like https://thecornerstoneforteachers.com/truth-for-teachers-podcast/respond-rude-disrespectful-student-attitudes/ which pretty much sums up what I am thinking about day to day. In that regard, I am thankful for the tutors who come in to support our students (and listen, we can never have enough tutors). I am also thankful for veteran teachers, but they are getting tired, too. I hope the weekend has been energizing for all of us, because I know we have to be warriors in the art of peacekeeping during the week (and for some of us, on the weekends, too).
God help us keep a sense of perspective and a sense of humor as well! To survive, we have to work together.
