In honor of Memorial Day

Today, I asked the kids why we did not have school this Monday.

They didn’t know.

So, we made a video about the Civil War and went to a Vietnam Memorial, reading about the soldiers who died. I also told the kids about my really sweet classmate named Brad Arms who died in Iraq. We remember him today.

We learned about the Civil War. Thank God the Union won, but we remember the soldiers on both sides who lost their lives. Over 600,000 soldiers died in the Civil War😢

I also think about the many millions of people from Eastern Europe who died fighting the Germans in World War 2. Thank you to those people!!!

It’s important for me that my kids know and appreciate Memorial Day. I am grateful for the time to teach them.
