Well, the “snow” turned into a lot of ice/sleet. It was not sledding weather but “stay safely inside” time. A Sabbath. A God-ordained rest.

We made the most of it by making Nick DiGiovanni’s smashed potatoes and Dino Nuggets. Cooking with my youngest was one of the best parts of my day. One of the worst parts of my day was seeing the kids fight over the last nuggets. That, and the shouting match over watching “inspiration online church” from a church in Texas. Ironically, it was about not letting your feelings dictate how you live your day. About speaking truth to yourself when you feel down so that you have the strength to keep moving forward.

Although the kids did not want to watch inspirational TV, all is well that ends well. After dinner, I shoveled a little bit of snow, quickly realizing that I would 100% not be able to do it all today, and then went inside to watch a Rom Com with my oldest. We ate Boom Chicka Pop popcorn and I sipped tea, savoring the sweet movie. Then, I joined the zoom meeting for Moms in Prayer. The leader decided to have a meeting wherein we pray for each other (every other time, we’ve prayed for our children). Honestly, I didn’t know if I was going to have the emotional strength to join, but then I did, and it was really comforting and calming. Praise God for that group. Now, the oldest and the youngest are watching one of my favorite animated movies – Turbo. I am going to join them in a sec, but I want to thank God quickly for being our sustainer, as the Moms in Prayer theme for the week. Thank you for sustaining us through this storm. Please help us be kinder to each other. Thank you so much for the sweet moments of today!
