Here’s hoping you and yours had a great Mother’s Day! I felt very grateful for the kids, even though the excitement of the day had a profound effect on them, and my little one is still awake, talking to me and still rehashing the day. I pulled away to just briefly write a note of gratitude to God. I had a super restful morning today — my kids woke me up way past my usual wake-up time, although the youngest did come up super early to wish me Happy Mother’s Day. Same one who is awake still. We had a wonderful lunch with family, went to the cemetery, and then rested some more, did some work, played some video games, went grocery shopping, made dinner, and are taking a super long time to wind down. I am going to go check on them once more. But before I do, I am so grateful to God and the cardinals that the Catholic Church has a new Pope! And it looks like he is much like Francis in his humility and concern for peace. Can’t wait to see what the future brings. So grateful for Pope Leo!
Hope you have a great week,
Elena
P.S. I have a prayer request. Would you please pray for R? Her mama (and our beloved coworker) died this past week. Beckie was as sweet and strong as her name, and was invariably kind to teachers and students alike. We are mourning the loss of an excellent educator and a reliable and faithful friend. She would greet us with, “Hi, beautiful!” and we are never going to forget her joyful smile. She was a special person, truthful AND loving, and even as we pray to see her in Heaven, we miss her so much on Earth. So, please pray for R and for our whole school. Thank you!!!!
